How Shipping and Fan Pressure Destroy Television Shows

For months now, I've witnessed the ongoing complaints that the writers of Arrow bowed to fan pressure and created the Olicity couple. And how that destroyed the show. I tend to disagree with this one since there was no chemistry between the portrayer of Oliver Queen (the Green Arrow) and the actress who played Laurel (The Black Canary) and off the charts chemistry between Oliver and Felicity. The writing did go overboard creating strife and drama, and wrote Felicity horribly for a year.

However, now another show seems to be heading down the path of bowing to fan pressure. Unless some unforseen miracle happens, they've already killed off the true love of one main character and it seems they are going to kill off the other true love of another. Now it's possible, however remotely, that they are not bowing to fan pressure but to kill off the true loves of both main characters that fans have been shipping for years?

I'm bowing out from watching Once Upon a Time for other reasons, but I think a lot of long time fans who feel true love means true love and have enjoyed these pairings, are going to stop watching. Bad enough the number of heroes they've turned into villains over the past few seasons, the huge plot holes and bad writing.
